One Small Shift That Changed Everything

As entrepreneurs, we make hundreds of decisions every single day.

From the moment we wake up, our brains are firing — client needs, creative direction, team questions, meetings, problem-solving, personal life... it's constant.

And over time, all those decisions start to wear on us. It’s called decision fatigue, and it’s real. Eventually, even the smallest choices, like what to eat, feel overwhelming.

That’s why one of the most impactful changes I’ve made lately is something I wish I’d done years ago: meal prepping.

Not the overly complicated kind with colour-coded containers and three-hour Sunday cooking sessions. Just intentional prepping. Breakfasts, a couple of lunches, easy grab-and-go snacks. Things that fuel me and simplify my day.

It seems small, but it’s made a huge difference.

When I don’t have to think about what I’m eating, I stay in flow. I feel more energized, more focused, and way less likely to skip meals or make choices that don’t actually serve me. I show up better in meetings, I make decisions faster, and I’m not crashing mid-afternoon because I forgot to eat.

It’s a simple system. But it’s become foundational.

We often think the big breakthroughs come from big moves. But this? This was a small shift that completely transformed my day-to-day. It freed up mental space. It gave me back time. And most importantly, it reminded me that taking care of myself is a form of strategy too.

Here’s a few of my favourite meal preps:

• Protein espresso banana bread

• Bean salad w/ quinoa

• Yam protein pancakes

• Full roasted chicken that can be used for a few different lunches; chicken salad bowls, sliced chicken breast on a roasted veggie salad

• Hard-boiled eggs, aged cheddar cheese and apple slices w/ sea salt

• Pre-wash and slice strawberries, blueberries, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, etc… for easy grab and go

These are all easy, clean ingredients things that don’t take much time to make that taste so good and don’t leave me feeling heavy after I eat them.
